Obituary

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, God called an angel home after a love-filled and joyful life. Edna Ann Robie passed away during her commitment to life despite the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis. She displayed a willingness of purpose to "give her all" in all circumstances and in all situations. Her zest for life and her vibrant and frank approach to accomplish most anything that came before her was only superseded by her tenacious appetite to "get it done." She loved unconditionally.

Much of Edna's early years were enjoying her families trips to Martha's Vineyard via dad's passion for the open ocean, a 32 ft Bertram pleasure boat. She had countless adventures and perhaps never disclosed other experiences during the adolescence and teen years. Teens will be teens!

Edna was born on November 30, 1956, sole daughter of Aldo and Marion Mangherini and resided in Dorchester with her older brother Willaim (Billy) until moving to North Weymouth. She graduated from Weymouth North H.S. in 1974. She went on to achieve an Associate's Degree in Business Management from Quincy College which afforded her opportunities to apply her intellect and abilities in all things related to her educational training. She retired from South Shore Voc Tech Hanover as an account manager in 2016.

Upon moving to Marshfield both Edna and John began their walk-through life grounded in faith. They became members of The First Congregational Church of Marshfield enjoying and participating in various activities notably singing in the choir. She had a passion for country music and became enlivened learning beloved hymns while singing in the choir. She also was an active participant in youth group activities,

Edna enjoyed living in Marshfield. She had a passion for all of God's creations especially dogs. She enjoyed caring for several dogs guided by a spirit of compassion, and care. Most notable was her "boy" Kylla, a miniature pincer. All in all, she raised and cared for Rudy, Murphi (both rescues), Kylla and Buster (a rescue). Each one was influenced by Edna's tenderness and love. She also had a passion for gardening. Her perennial gardens have to this date provided for a spectacular display of God's provisions of beauty. She worked tirelessly preparing the soil and planting her flowers.

Edna embraced her passion for God and lovingly displayed her passion through all that she tried and accomplished during her life. She carried this passion to The Boston Home, a residential community for those with neuromuscular challenges. She immediately shared all that she possessed in love, understanding, compassion, empathy, and enthusiasm. Everywhere Edna was active and became known her God given inspirations were noticeable, accepted, and passed on with open and loving arms. Edna is survived by her brother William Mangherini. and sister-in-law Sandy Williams. She was a loving mentor and compassionate supporter to Adrienne M. Morin, spouse Chris, of Beverly, MA, Katelyn E. Garay, spouse Carlos, of Henrico, VA., and Nathaniel A. Robie, spouse Jackie, of Mechanicsville, VA. She was known as "Mimi," to grandchildren: Melinda, Malory and Charlie Morin, Matias, Lucia and Tiago Garay, and Clara and Reagan Robie.

Edna enjoyed having many close friends and acquaintances over the years. Everyone that came to know her on various levels and experiences can offer a personal account of how she touched their life. Yes, she was that kind of friend. May God's eternal unconditional love and peace be a reminder to you of Edna A. Robie.
