Obituary

July 22, 1954 -June 2, 2023

"Ned" Edward Andrew Lamphier grew up in the heart of Marshfield Hills, living an idyllic childhood full of friends, adventures, misadventures, fishing, skiing, baseball, camping and family. After being an All-star athlete and graduating MHS in 1972 Ned headed to New Hampshire to Plymouth State College for two years, coming home to Marshfield to work summers with brother Mark.  His dream of skiing western powder took him to Utah in 1975 for a year of skiing at Alta! Returning to finish his degree in Parks and Leisure Studies from Lyndon State College in Vermont in 1979. Emphasis on "Leisure".

Beloved oldest brother and "Pied Piper of Powder", Ned led the charge back to Utah, settling in Park City. followed by four more siblings, college friends and neighbors. For 44 years Ned continued to live a charmed and wonderful life of skiing, fishing, river running, softball, golf & happy hours. His role as the father of "P.J. "was the highlight of his life. He proudly passed on his "Mad" fishing & baseball skills to P.J but sadly…P.J. is a snowboarder.  Ned's Siblings all idolized his skiing ability and beautiful style and chased him on the slopes for thousands of turns and vertical miles.

Ned was everybody's best friend and the BEST!  The Best Son ever, The Best brother, uncle, & friend. His Life partner DeNiece Elliot had the best of Ned and will be left with so many happy memories.  Ned was a lucky and happy man. He was kind, engaging, generous and caring.  Throughout his life Ned created and kept enduring friendships from New England to Utah and Back again. Ned Passed away peacefully at his childhood home while visiting his Mother Betty. Ned left us all too soon, still living life to its fullest.

Ned will be forever missed by mother Betty, son P.J., partner DeNiece, brothers Mark (Kelly), Paul (Joyce), and Matthew: sisters Kristin Richards (Jeff) and Becky, along with so many incredibly close family friendships. He was the beloved and cherished uncle of Kyle & Michael, Keagan, Mary & Sarah, Lucy, and Amy.

Ned leaves us…. forever casting his smile and love.
