Edward S. Hupprich, Jr., of Marshfield devoted his life to his family, his community, and his country. He passed away on November 16, 2018 at the age of 78.
Edward was the beloved husband of Barbara (Caporale) Hupprich to whom he was married for 52 years. He was the dear father of Laura Lee Milhaven and her husband Michael of New York, Cara Hupprich of Virginia, and Alicia Hupprich of Marshfield; cherished grandfather of Abigail and Samuel Milhaven; brother of Ronald Hupprich of Randolph and uncle of Andrew Hupprich of Douglas and Ellen LeBlanc of Plainville and brother-in-law of Robert and Chris Caporale of Florida.
Edward graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Liberal Arts, then received his Masters degree from Emerson College. In 1967, Ed served as a lieutenant in the Signal Corps in Vietnam.
After leaving the Army, Edward became an English teacher at Marshfield High School, working there for 33 years before retiring in 2002. He also started the MHS Drama Club. As a teacher he touched many lives. He firmly believed that all students have the potential to succeed and his goal was to help them learn the tools to achieve that potential.
Edward enjoyed his family, friends, music, laughter, and reveling in the recent successes of the Patriots and Red Sox. He enjoyed talking politics with his friends over a morning cup of coffee at Dockside Donuts and he was a familiar sight driving around town in his beloved 1946 Ford pickup truck.
