Hughes, Edward (Ned), of Green Harbor, and Estero, FL, formerly of Dedham, December 19, 2018. Beloved husband of Betty Ann (Langner). Loving father of Elisabeth (Beth) J. Hughes of Cambridge and Edward J. Hughes, Jr. (Jim) and his wife Cathy of Rye, NY. Dear grandfather of Jack, Delia, Robby, and Annie. Brother of Jean Brown of Brookline, Dorothy Wieber of Bowie, MD, Linda Adler of Duxbury, and the late Jack Hughes. He was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Nyhan) Hughes.

Ned was a graduate of Brookline High School and Northeastern University. He spent 40 years working in the investment field in Boston and served as past President of the NASD, the National Association of Securities Dealers. Ned and his family resided in Dedham and summered in Green Harbor since 1973. Ned and Betty retired to Green Harbor in 2003 and began wintering in Estero, FL. Ned was a long-time member of the Marshfield Country Club and the Old Colony Senior Men's League.

Services will be held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield, beginning with Visitation at the church on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and concluding with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, 300 Arnold Palmer Blvd., Norton MA 02766.
