Obituary

Pomella, Edward, 62, of Marshfield died Monday, March 12, 2012 at home in his sleep after a nine month battle with cancer. Ed was born and educated in Brighton and summered in Marshfield until moving there permanently in 1968. He was the owner and operator of the Fieldston Gulf/Texaco station until 1984 when he founded Fieldston Marine. Ed married the love of his life, Evelyn Robinson in November of 1972. Together they raised two sons, Matthew and Adam. He enjoyed boating, cooking, wine making and spending time with family/friends. Besides his wife Evie, he is survived by sons Matthew and wife Stacey (LaRiviere) of Marshfield and Adam and wife Deb (Maloney) of Halifax and grand children Sage, Hunter and Quinn. Brother of Robert of Kittery, ME, Ronald of Marshfield, Elaine Feeley of Waltham and the late Thomas of Marshfield. Also remembered by dozens of nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. Visiting Hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St, rte 139 Marshfield on Thursday, March 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, March 16 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church 591 Ocean St. Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory can be made to the Ed Pomella Memorial Fund care of Rockland Federal Credit Union, 850 Moraine St., Marshfield, MA 02050 for disbursement to Jordan Hospital Oncology Department and Local High School wrestling programs.
