Edwin (JR) Loring Jr., 90, a lifelong resident of Duxbury, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Plymouth. Born on August 3, 1934, in Plymouth, JR was the owner of Millbrook Motors in Duxbury, MA, where he dedicated over 60 years to his passion for automobiles.
A true "Car Guy," JR had a special fondness for antique cars, particularly Packards and Jeep Willys. His favorite motto was, "never fall in love with any car that can be sold." Beyond his love for cars, JR was a devoted animal lover, particularly cherishing moments with his golden retrievers.
JR enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, creating lasting memories with his beloved wife, Judy, who predeceased him. He is survived by his three children, Alethea (Lee) Loring, Edwin (Chip) Loring III, Sarah Del Guercio and her husband Anthony Del Guercio. He also leaves behind his cherished grandson, Hunter Jett Del Guercio.
A proud veteran of the US Army, JR served in Korea after the war and was a respected community leader in Duxbury. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mayflower Cemetery, Tremont Street in Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in JR's honor to Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue, online at: https://ygrr.app.neoncrm.com/forms/donate-in-honorin-memory
