Edwin C. Sullivan, III of Marshfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday February 5, 2025.
Born in Dorchester to the late Edwin C. Sullivan, Jr. and Elizabeth (Conboy) Sullivan, Ed moved to Scituate in Junior High and quickly became part of the Sandhills crowd, where he met the love of his life, Donna.
As a US Naval Seabee, he served 2 tours of Duty in Vietnam in 1965, 66 and 67. He returned to the states where he and Donna raised their family and in 1992 moved to Marshfield. After years of service, Ed retired from the Town of Scituate.
Mr. Sullivan served as the past Commander of VFW Post 3169 in Scituate. He also served on the Veterans Memorial Park Board as a Trustee and Chairman. Ed took great pride in his service to this country, especially when it came to helping other veterans, but his greatest joy and deepest love was for his family.
Ed leaves behind his beloved wife Donna (Balboni) Sullivan; daughter Lisa Sheehy of Fall River and son Bryan Sullivan and his wife Francie of Marshfield; Grandchildren Caitlin Sudak and her husband Joeseph, Kenneth Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, James Sullivan.; great-grandchildren Jaxson, Cameron, and Connor; siblings and their spouses Elizabeth "Betty" Wales (Bruce), Mary Colleen Hammond (Barry), and Kathleen (Sullivan) Angelique. He is predeceased by siblings Kevin J. Sullivan and Janice Peterson.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 13 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home for a procession to the Massachusetts National Cemtery in Bourne, where a graveside service with Navy Funeral Honors will be held at 12:30 p.m.
