Elaine M. (Vallier) Olinger of Marshfield passed away on July 4, 2021 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Donald Olinger, she was the loving mother of Donald Olinger and his wife Patricia of Maine, Thomas Olinger and his wife Karen of Marshfield, Jon Olinger of Marshfield, and the late Christine Olinger; cherished grandmother of Rachel, TJ, Glen, Liz, Liam, Ross and great-grandaughter Maya; dear sister of Bonnie Dehner of Marshfield, Mary Groombridge of Duxbury, and Peter Vallier of Mission Viejo, CA.

"Lanie" was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family above all else and provided afterschool care for all 6 grandchildren. She was know to provide a last-minute meal, a shoulder to cry on, and for having a hot cup of tea ready for family or friends who would drop by. Active in her church for many years before her illness, she organized events such as the St. Patrick's Day celebration and many memorable Christmas dinners. She will be deeply missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield.
