Elinor Martha (McFarland) MacDonald of Marshfield passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 61. Beloved mother of Brian MacDonald of Marshfield and her two dogs, Duke and Taz. Daughter of the late Thomas E. and Elinor R. (Geany) McFarland, she was the dear sister to Jack and Patty McFarland of Marshfield, Timothy and Beth McFarland of Plymouth, Maryellen and Stephen Forti of Marshfield, Anne and the late Richard Steiner of Marshfield, and the late Thomas McFarland, Jr., and his wife Linda. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Elinor was born on November 16, 1960 in Cambridge, MA and moved to Marshfield in 1961. After graduating Marshfield High, she held many jobs around town. Her favorite job was driving a school bus for Marshfield Public Schools. She loved all the kids just as if they were her own. In the summer you could find her working security at the Marshfield Fair. She then went to work at Quincy Pediatrics in Marshfield as the friendly receptionist. On the weekends you could find her slinging cocktails at the Marshfield Yacht Club.

If you were lucky enough to know Ellie, you loved her! She had a quick wit, dazzling personality, and could take control of any situation with an ear-piercing whistle! She could rock a bathrobe like no other for any occasion. She had a love for Elvis, Orcas, and her dogs, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed immensely by all those who loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann by the Sea Parish Church, 591 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery.
