Elizabeth "Betty" (Bohle) Macaulay of Duxbury passed away on April 2, 2022 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Wallace Macaulay, she is survived by her daughter Susan Adams and her partner Michael, grandchildren Kelly Atkinson, Jeffrey Adams, Scott Adams, 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Louise VanKalken of New Hampshire. Mother of the late Peter Macaulay, she also leaves her former daughter in-law, Nancy Macaulay.

Betty grew up on a farm in New Hampshire. After graduating from Manchester Central High School and Hesser Business School, she worked at New Hampshire Fire Insurance Co. She and her husband, Wallace, relocated to Duxbury, MA. where they raised their family. When her children were growing up Betty was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a 4-H leader and a member of the Home and School Association.

Betty and Wally were longtime members of The Marshfield Country Club. She served two terms as chairperson of the MCC Women's Golf Assn. and was Captain of the WGAM state spring team. She was fiercely competitive and expected nothing less than one's best effort.

Betty remained active well into her 90's, playing golf, lap swimming, and even working with a personal trainer at the gym. She was an avid sports fan, and, in later years was fond of referring to the sports section of the Globe as her "Bible". She found great pleasure in baking for friends and family, tending her plants, and welcoming her Bluebirds back to her yard each spring to nest in her bird boxes.

Betty was grateful for all her caregivers who made it possible to remain in her beloved home. Donations in her memory may be made to Cranberry Hospice & Palliative Care, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360.
