McCarthy, Elizabeth "Betty" (O'Donoghue) Of Marshfield, formerly of Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland, passed away on January 31, 2016. Devoted mother of Patrick and his wife Karen of Weymouth. Loving grandmother of Kristen and Shawn. Sister of Nan Monaghan and the late May Merrigan, Pat Donahue, Mick, Jerry, John and Florrie O'Donoghue. Beloved companion of the late Edward O'Donnell. Betty leaves many nieces and nephews and also her former husband Patrick McCarthy of West Roxbury.

Betty was a woman devoted to her family, she was always early to any family event. She enjoyed baking, knitting and was an avid gardener. Always in our hearts, Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 6th at 8 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St, Marshfield. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery.
