Obituary

Elizabeth P. (Betty") Noble passed away peacefully on March 22, 2024, surrounded by her five children after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was 87 years old.  Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and laughter. She is survived by her children, Charles Noble III of North Berwick, ME, Kathleen Noble of Sarasota, FL, Linda Noble of Bradenton, FL, Donna Short of Sarasota, FL, and Deborah Noble Farrell (Paul Gensheimer) of Scituate, her grandchildren Uriah (Grace) Silas, Tess and Harlow Noble, Christopher Noble, Rachael, Grace, Freeman Short, and Lydia (Cody) Short Kochis (father Bowman Short); Joshua (Whitney), Jordan (Christopher), Brandon Farrell and Henry Gensheimer; great-grandchildren Isla Joan, Camden, Jonah, Charlee, Rhett, and Wilder.  Predeceased by siblings Joan (John) Noble and William (Mary) Ward, she leaves a brother, Robert (late Melody) Ward of Plymouth and Paul (Lucille) Ward of Needham as well as many nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

Born Elizabeth Ward on November 5, 1936, in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, Betty grew up in West Roxbury. She attended Holy Name School, where she became a proud member of the Holy Name Parish School Band as a majorette.  She cherished the memories of performing in the band alongside her sister Joan and brothers in the band.

After graduating from high school, Betty embarked on a journey that led her to Boston College before being recruited as a stewardess for American Airlines in 1955. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Charles "Charlie" Noble, while summering in Scituate, Massachusetts. Together, they raised their five children and became long-term and well-known residents of Marshfield, Massachusetts.

Betty and Charlie were proud owners of Plymco Millwork, Inc. in Plymouth, Massachusetts, for over 25 years. She and Charlie were well known for their time spent on the North and South Rivers and at the Spit throughout every summer on their boats.  In retirement, she found joy in decorating and spending time with her grandchildren and friends.

A devout Christian, Betty was a strong believer in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She shared her faith by teaching Sunday school at St. Christine's Church when her children were young, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of many.

In her later years, Betty found companionship and laughter with her wonderful friends at Lawson's Green, a beautiful retirement community in Scituate, Massachusetts. There, she cherished her afternoons with "The Girls," playing board games, planning get-togethers, and forming new friendships.
