Eric Meech, 57, of Marshfield, died unexpectedly from complications of the flu virus on January 27, 2019. Eric was one of 7 children born to Billy and Shirley Meech of Boston, Ma. Eric is survived by his children, Alexandra and Victoria Meech, his best friend and wife of 27 years, Maureen Cantwell Meech, Paula and Donald Henderson of Middleboro, Gregory and Trudi Meech of Carver, Keith and Angela Meech of New York, Jeffrey Meech of Hyde Park and Craig and Marsha Meech of Groton and many nieces, nephews, adored cousins and in-laws.

Eric was brought home to his forever home in Marshfield in 1961. He would marry his childhood sweetheart, Maureen Cantwell and they would become the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Alex and Tory. Eric's three girls were his pride and joy. His other passions would include fly fishing and anything to do with cars. It has been said that Eric could cast a line before he could even walk. His favorite place was Brant Rock pier or by the ocean where he would spend much of his free time doing any kind of fishing. If he wasn't at the pier he would be home working on a car engine or fixing something around his home, with his daughters by his side. He loved his work at Bagnell Auto Supply in Marshfield with many friends he cherished.

Eric's most memorable characteristic was his passion for helping others. It did not matter what the task, he would step up first to share his talents to help a friend or a friend's friend. He was unconditional in his giving. This love for helping others was part of the fabric of his soul which he passed on to his children. Eric will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered by all as a best dad, a best friend and simply a good guy. He now shares in everlasting life with his parents and brother, Philip, formerly of Marshfield. He will be forever missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield MA.
