Erin Alice Wiederhold (Nicholson), 83, of Linden Ponds in Hingham, passed October 1, 2017 after a long illness. Beloved wife of the late Pieter Wiederhold and loving mother to Kristin Howlett Winters, David Howlett and Erin Elizabeth Howlett from her first husband, Ronald Howlett; treasured Auntie to many nieces and nephews; and loving Nana to eight grandchildren.
Erin leaves behind sisters Marie O'Neill of Brant Rock, Cathleen McIntyre of Sandwich, and brother Joe Nicholson of Weymouth. Her endless kindness and compassion will be missed by numerous in-laws, extended family and dear friends across the world.
She was a proud graduate of Dorchester High School in St. Marks Parish, as well as Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career spanned clinical, visiting nurse and working as a certified case manager for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare. While living in New York in the 70's, she enjoyed a modeling career as well as being a writer/producer of fashion shows for the local NBC affiliate. She enjoyed crocheting, music, ballroom dancing, playing fashion and make up with her granddaughters, and laughing with friends and family.
Visiting hours are on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MacDonald's Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield.
