Florence Jane Chandler Wicks, affectionately known as Jane to family and friends, passed peacefully with her family on July 24, 2019. Jane was born in 1924 at Jordan Hospital along with her twin sister, Mary Ann Reid (deceased). She also had a younger sister, Josephine Nava (deceased). Jane was the beloved mother of two sons, Calin W. Chandler of Middleboro and Kenneth B. Chandler of Troy, Montana, and grandmother to Wayne Chandler of Middleboro, Nancy Powell of Marshfield, Lisa Chandler of Florida, Derek Chandler of Carver, and 7 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a half-brother and half-sister.
Daughter of the late James Peterson and Mabel MacDonald Peterson of Duxbury, Jane was raised in Duxbury and attended Duxbury Schools. In 1942, Jane married Otis Chandler of Marshfield. They moved to San Diego, where Otis was stationed at Point Loma during World War II. Jane worked at an air craft factory to aid in the war effort. After the war, they returned to Marshfield and started a family. Jane enjoyed her family and friends and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield will conclude with a Funeral Procession to the Cedar Grove Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 12:30 p.m.
