Frances Anne Callahan passed away on July 5, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Anne (Roman) Greland and Thomas Greland and grew up alongside her big brother, Thomas Greland Jr.
Born in Boston and raised in Quincy, she graduated from North Quincy High School. She remained in Quincy for most of her life, where she raised her sons and built a career at State Street Bank.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Michael Callahan (Linda Glennon), Peter Callahan, and Gregory Callahan (Christy Bracken); her sister-in-law, Margaret Greland; her nieces, Kathleen Oliver and Beth (Joe) Cizmar; her nephew, Thomas (Candace) Greland; her lifelong best friend, Marilyn Geary; her cousin, Rita Gallagher; and her cherished granddaughters, Maura, Emily, Lucy & Molly, who will carry her love, strength, and spirit forward for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Callahan; her beloved partner, James Armstrong; and dear family & friends David Geary and Bill Gallagher, whose friendships meant so much throughout her life.
She was deeply grateful for her close circle of lifelong friends & family, whose adventures, cruises, laughter, and shared experiences were among life's greatest blessings.
Her greatest pride was the family she built. Raising her three sons brought her immense joy, and she created a childhood filled with love, adventure, and lasting traditions. Time spent at the family cottage in Plymouth gave her boys unforgettable experiences and became a cherished place where countless family memories were made.
In her later years, she found happiness in Florida, where she made her home with her son Gregory & Christy, and her treasured little companion, Max. They will miss her deeply and carry her love with them always.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 11: 30 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street, in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery of Marshfield.
