Obituary

Francine Ann (Aiello) Hundley, of Duxbury, passed away on March 11, 2017, at the age of 84. Francine was born on June 17, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Adeline Aiello.  She married Robert Gerald Hundley (Jerry), also of Brooklyn, in 1954.  They moved to Huntington, NY in 1959.  She relocated to Duxbury in 1974 where she lived happily for almost 43 years. Francine is the sister of Barbara Aiello of Brooklyn, NY, and the late Anthony Aiello.  She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Hundley, and her oldest son, Keith Hundley.  Francine is survived by four children: Kirk Hundley and his wife Janice of Southboro, Lisa Hannahan and her husband Mike of Amherst, Sabrina Nicholson and her husband Bob of Wellesley, Kyle Hundley of Pembroke, and grandchildren Caitlin, Colin, Laura, Julia, Paul, Abby, and Jake.

After graduating from St. Brendan High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1950, Francine worked as an executive assistant.  After raising her children, Francine returned to work as a legal secretary for the law firm of Mullowney and Gilgan.  She loved her job and took great pride in her work.

Francine was, first and foremost, a devoted wife and mother.  Her son, Kyle was the light of her life.  She always said that he was the best thing that ever happened to her, and that feeling was contagious to the rest of her family.  She cared for Kyle at home until she was 80 years old.  Francine was a strong advocate for Kyle and for all people with special needs.  She was an enthusiastic and loving grandmother.

Francine volunteered for many years in the Duxbury Schools, the Duxbury Rural & Historical Society, and at the Senior Center in Duxbury.  She was an active member of Holy Family Church in Duxbury and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Marshfield.

Francine was an avid Red Sox fan.  She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and doing yoga and water aerobics.  Francine loved Duxbury Beach and had an extensive collection of seashells.

She recently moved to the Village at Duxbury where she met many new friends and participated in various activities.  This made the last months of her life very happy and enjoyable.
