Frank A. Orlowski of Duxbury passed away suddenly after a long illness, in the comfort of his loving family on March 14, 2020, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Helga (Balewski) Orlowski and father of Karen Tepper and her husband Jay Salamone, all of Duxbury. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Katherine Orlowski.
Frank was a resident of Duxbury for 51 years. Frank graduated from Holy Family High School in New Bedford, MA in 1956. He enlisted in the Air Force and served until 1962. He met the love of his life Helga while he was stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. They were married for 58 years. He then embarked on a financial career. An accountant by trade, his last position before retirement in 1996, was a chief financial officer in the auto industry.
Frank will be known for his loyalty to his family, friends, and neighbors. He was generous of his time, had a sense of humor, quick wit and openly encouraged banter. He enjoyed gardening, clamming, and was adept at fixing just about anything. He was always seen in his expansive back yard with one of his many loyal canine constant companions.
Frank battled Leukemia for the last five years and never once let this stop his enjoyment or interfere with the quality of his life. He credits Dr. Debra White and the entire oncology team at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth as a major factor in his ability to pursue his quality of life.
Frank was laid to rest March 18th in a private ceremony with Funeral Military Honors in the Mayflower Cemetery of Duxbury. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frank's memory to the Beth Israel Deaconess Jordan Hospital Oncology Department, 275 Sandwich Street, Plymouth MA 02360.
