Obituary

Farrell, Franklyn "Frank" Jr., age 76 of Marshfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2014 after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Adams) Farrell. Born July 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank Farrell Sr. and Marion (Curtis) Farrell. Frank was the brother of Lillian Brodie and her husband Bernard of Braintree and the late Robert Farrell. Frank is survived by his loving stepchildren, Deborah Rouvalis of Wareham, Cheryl DeVaux of Falmouth and Paul Svagdis and his wife Catherine of CA. He is also survived by sons Michael and Mark Farrell of Brockton; Sadly he was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Farrell of Brockton. Frank will be missed by his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren who he loved very much.
Frank was a Chief Petty Officer in the Naval Reserve and served over 40 years in the military. The last eighteen years of his career were spent as a recruiter stationed at Quincy and Weymouth. He received numerous awards which included "Recruiter of the Year" for the northeast region. Frank was a past commander of the AMVETS and a member of the DAV American Legion, Marshfield Lodge of Elks and a member of the Masons at St. Paul's Lodge in Braintree. Frank will always be remembered for his quick wit and storytelling while entertaining at his "Goat Locker".
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. in Marshfield on Monday, August 25 from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held in MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 p.m.
Due to the Floral restrictions at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Memorial gifts in Frank's memory may be made to the Cranberry Hospice Inc, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360
