Cohen, Frederick M. 71 of Marshfield, formerly of Roslindale, passed away on April 15, 2015 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Beloved husband of the late Deborah A. (Stuart) Cohen. Son of the late Louis and Hedwig (Ambrowitz) Cohen. Loving father to Gregg DiGianfelice of Marshfield, Kim and her husband Sean McCormack of Roslindale, Jennifer Cohen of Marshfield, Lauren and her husband Richard Rodrigues of Marshfield, Nicol Riley of Roslindale and Melinda Palma of Marshfield.Born and raised in Jamica Plain and lived in Roslindale before moving to Marshfield in 1993. He was an Iron Worker for Local 7 for many years. Fred was initiated on June 1, 1970 and was a Life Member of the Boston Lodge of Elks #10. Fred served Boston Lodge 3 times as its Exalted Ruler. He was a very active member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks and served as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler during the 1989 Grand Lodge year representing the Massachusetts Metropolitan District. Fred was also very active in the Massachusetts State Elks Association and served as its President for the 1997-1998 State Association year. He was also a Director and President of the Massachusetts Elks Scholarship, Inc. which is the State Associations Major Project. Survived by 6 grandchildren, Alicia, Anthony, Sean, Ariana, Kayla, Natalia and Maggie Doodles. Also survived by 1 brother, 1 sister and several nieces, nephews as well as many great close friends. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139 in Marshfield on Tuesday April 21, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. An Elks Service will begin at 7;30 pm Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 22, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal St., Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in Fredericks memory may be made to the Massachusetts Elks Scholarship, 63 Bay State Rd., Lynnfield, MA. 01940
