George P. "Pat" Davis, Ret., Marshfield Police, passed away on March 26, 2021 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Mary E. (Skinner) Davis; loving father of Patrick Davis and his wife Debbie of Marshfield, Greg Davis, MPD, and his wife Liz of Marshfield, Maura Burchill and her husband Billy of Bourne, and Elizabeth Johnston of Pembroke; cherished grandfather of Morgan, Taylor, Ashley, Jake, Mitch, Kayla, Kathleen, Alex, and Rachael; dear brother of Charles A. Davis and his wife Nancy of Sandwich and sister in-law Kathy Davis. Pat is predeceased by siblings Joanne McKee, Don Davis, and Linda Harrington, and leaves many nieces and nephews.

Pat grew up in Hanson with his mom, dad and four siblings. He attended Whitman Hanson high school and graduated with the class of 1960. He served in the National Guard right after high school. Pat spent most of his life as a Marshfield Police Officer. He was always there to protect and serve but mostly he was good at helping people. He served his community proudly. He loved his job. He didn't just work as a cop, it was who he was.

Pat enjoyed life. Pat enjoyed riding his motorcycle wherever and whenever he could. His favorite way to spend time was traveling with his wife, Mary, and spending time with his grandkids.

Pat was the king of his castle and would proudly hold court at the pool or around the kitchen table. He was a friend to all. He never went by Mr Davis, he was always Pat to young and old.

Pat's greatest joy in life was his family, and his family extended far beyond the people he was related to. Many can say "he was like a father to me." He would give you the shirt off his back and never take credit for it. He will be missed and never forgotten.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street (Rte. 3A) in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery.
