George P. Lotti, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born to the late Ezio and Clara Lotti, and he was raised in South Boston.
George was the loving husband of Alice Lotti. He was the devoted father of Pauline Lotti Golden (Marshfield) and devoted stepfather of Christy Flannery (Weymouth). Grandfather of Kyle Lotti and wife Megan Lotti (Marshfield), Melanie Golden (Marshfield), John Golden and Morgan Reppert (Jamaica Plain), Hannah Golden (Marshfield), Greta Flannery (Weymouth), Justin Flannery (Weymouth), and Joseph Flannery (Weymouth). Great Grandfather of Penelope Lotti, Teagan Lotti, and Georgiana Lotti (Marshfield).
He is survived by his brother Pino "Bruno" Lotti (Marshfield) and sister Esther O'Keefe (Quincy). Brother of the late Paul J. Lotti, Genilda Cahill, and John Lotti. Brother-in-law of the late Patrick Cahill, the late John "Lefty" O'Keefe, the late Joan Leaman, and Michael McCabe. He was also the loving and devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews.
George proudly served his country as a United States Marine before spending a dedicated thirty-five-year career in the Boston Police Department, where he retired as a Sergeant Detective. His dedication and commitment to public service and helping others left a lasting impact on all who knew him. George was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Christine's Parish in Marshfield. He was cherished for his generosity, warmth, and incredible sense of humor. Children and animals were always drawn to George, which reflected his kind and gentle nature. In his free time, he loved gardening and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
George enjoyed the company of the many close friends he made while playing cards at Marshfield Yacht Club. He also cherished mornings with his crew at Dockside Donuts in Marshfield, where they shared coffee, stories, and lots of laughs. George will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at MacDonald Funeral Home, located at 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at St. Christine's Parish, located on 1295 Main Street in Marshfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Marshfield Boys and Girls Club , the Alzheimer's Association , and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
