Smith, George J., of Humarock and West Roxbury, passed away on August 20, 2015 at the age of 79. Devoted husband of Eileen (Walsh) Smith of Humarock. Dear father of James Smith of West Roxbury, Stephen and Miriam Smith of Medfield, Kevin and Sheila Smith of West Roxbury, Nancy and Mark Nelligan of Walpole, Maureen and Thomas Duff of Dedham, Carol and Robert O'Donnell of Scituate, Sheila and Chris Serra of West Roxbury. Loving Papa of Kerry, Joey, Erin, Brian, Patrick, Matthew, Alison, Maggie, Ellen, Lily, Anna, and Eddie. Brother of Paul Smith of Carver, Anne Walters of Marshfield, Mary Collins of Somerville, Kay Iafrate of Florida, and the late Peter Smith and Barbara Hebert.

George was a graduate of Boston College, Class of 1958.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Rte. 139, Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM for an 11:00 AM Funeral Mass to be held at St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street, Marshfield. Interment will be at a later date.
