Gerald K. Covey, 89, of Marshfield MA, beloved husband and father died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Louise Danieli Covey and his children, Alison Miele and James Gaine of Carver, MA, Lindsay and Brian McDonald of Milford, NJ, Sandra Covey and Jarrod Guimares of Halifax, MA, Corinne and Anthony Ciano of Revere, MA and Scott Hatcher of Ashburn VA and his 10 grandchildren, Ally, Sydney, Jasmine, Anthony, Jaelyn, Noah, Gwendolyn, Abigail, Madelyn, and Elizabeth.
Youngest surviving member of 12 from Montague, MA. Gerald served 24 years in the US Air Force, stationed throughout the states and Europe as an airplane mechanic reaching the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After finishing his multiple tours he continued to serve as an Air Force recruiter in the states until his retirement from the service in 1978. Gerald then worked in insurance sales from 1979 to the present.
He was a devoted husband who loved to travel with his wife. After living in Florida for a brief period of time they moved back to spend more time with their children and grandchildren. Gerald tried his best to never miss an event that any of his grandchildren were in from dancing recitals, ball games, and shows unless it was a Sunday because Sundays were for the Patriots. His Fridays were committed to shop talk at the garage and Christmas was devoted to CoveyVille. He was a coach, an active member of his community and served as a board member of the Marshfield Fair for many years.
He loved his family with all his heart and was Mr. Fix it for anyone who needed him. A very proud veteran who will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.
