Gerardine Sullivan Bennett, 59, passed away on May 10, 2017 at her home in Marshfield. Beloved wife of James A. Bennett and daughter of Lila L. (Swanton) Sullivan and the late Charles L. Sullivan. Loving stepmother of Laurie A. Cushing and her husband Thomas of Florida and James A. Bennett and his wife Marcy of Fitchburg and grandmother of Jackson Bennett. Dear sister of Jacqueline Cunningham and her husband Bruce of Florida, Margaret Mary Blackburn and her husband Preston of Kansas, Andrea E. Bonfiglio and her husband Eugene of Whitman, and Sean R. Sullivan and his wife Donna of Scituate. Gerardine also leaves many nieces and nephews

Gerry was born in Cambridge, MA and was raised in Rockland, MA.  She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1976.  She worked in the Hospitality industry for over 30 years and most recently worked in customer service for a local Marshfield Company.

Her dedication to people and service is best demonstrated by the time she spent volunteering for local disabled veterans.  She was a proud, active member of the Marshfield Disabled Veterans (DAV) auxiliary, Marshfield Elks Lodge, and the AMVETS. She spent many hours volunteering for these groups, supporting their mission to feed and care for our local veterans.  This work brought her great joy.

Gerry was also an avid sports fan. She loved all of the local Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland.
