Damiano, Gerda Erika (Sixt), of Marshfield, passed away on January 8, 2016 at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of Nicholas Damiano for 59 years, dear mother of Susan Perry and her husband, Randy of Natick and Deborah Damiano of Natick. Known as Omi, Gerda leaves her grandchildren Alexandra and Michael Perry and Kristin Damiano, a brother Karl Sixt of Germany, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Werner Sixt, also of Germany.

Gerda was born in Germany to the late Lieselotte Wiedermann Sixt. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a Bookeeper for the State of Massachusetts. Gerda had many gifts. She had a love of crocheting, an amazing green thumb, and she loved to cook and bake which was evident in the most beautiful cakes she made. There was nothing that brought Gerda more joy than spending precious time with her family.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery, Marshfield.
