Gertrude (Susie Hall) Leonardi of Marshfield, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 11, 2017 at the age of 89 at Wingate Nursing Home in Kingston. She was the daughter of Berta Hormann Scsibrany. She grew up in Vienna, Austria and became an United States citizen on 12/3/51. Susie was the wife of the late Walter Leonardi and the dear mother of Elizabeth "Libby Carr" and her husband Kevin of Duxbury, and grandmother of Kasey Carr and Cody Carr. She also leaves a dear friend Donna O'Brien of Marshfield.

Susie worked for many years as a waitress in Canton and Walpole. She then worked in the cafeteria at Instron in Canton where she met the love of her life Walter. They spent many years boating at Taylor Marine in Marshfield. Susie loved gardening and reading, and loved talking to people and sharing stories. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren Cody and Kasey. Susie loved helping people.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Standish Humane Society in Duxbury and the Duxbury Thrift Shop.

An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1775 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A funeral procession from the funeral home immediately following visitation will conclude with a Graveside Service at 11:15 a.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
