Gertrude "Trudy" Bennett (English), of Braintree, passed away on September 28, 2016 at the age of 69. She was a resident of Marshfield for many years. Trudy is the beloved wife of 50 years of John P. Bennett and dear mother of Lynne E. Walsh and her husband Richard of Hanson and Keith T. Bennett and his wife Shannon of Hudson, Ohio. Trudy also leaves her two grandchildren, Brendan P. and Hadley A. Bennett. Trudy is the daughter of the late Richard and Doris (Droge) English and sister of Martha and Susan English. She is also the sister of the late John and Wayne English, both deceased.

Trudy attended Hyde Park High and later became the Regional Human Resources Manager for Adelphia Cable Company. She was a devout member of The First Congregational Church of Marshfield and served in many capacities for the church. Trudy won a courageous battle with breast cancer, and fought multiple myeloma for the past 13 years. She is greatly loved by family, friends, and church members and will be missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. at The First Congregational Church, 1981 Ocean Street, Marshfield. All are invited to attend.
