Resteghini, Gertrude A. (Smigelski) 93 of Duxbury, formerly of Winchester, December 21, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Resteghini. Loving mother of Joanne Carleton of Duxbury, Paul J. Resten and his wife Donna of Franklin, James L. Resteghini of Duxbury and Joseph M. Resti of Dedham. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer Murphy, Amanda Resten, Joseph Resten and Jeffrey Resten and proud great grandmother of Graham C. Murphy. Sister of Hedwig Fiumara of Winchester and the late Michael and Joseph. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Karal and Anna (Schumilla) Smigelski.

Gertrude was truly part of America's Greatest Generation, a daughter of European immigrants, she grew up in Boston, married a WWII Veteran- Joseph, settled in the Boston suburbs, started a family and her life's passion, devotion and lifelong commitment was to all of them. As a mother, mother in law, grandmother and friend to so many, she was the source of much wisdom and inspiration, which was especially evident in her unwavering spirit throughout her battle with illness. She possessed a deep rooted faith as a devout Catholic, however you would also find no greater Boston sports fan then her, and if her TV was not tuned to the Catholic Channel, it was because a Boston College, Patriots, or Red Sox game was on instead.

A celebration of Gertrude's life will be held at the Holy Family Church 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury MA at 10:00 AM on Tuesday December 29, 2015. Interment will be in the Mayflower Cemetery Duxbury.
