The family of Gloria (Dunne) Bossi, of Marshfield, is saddened to announce that she passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021, after a long and happy life. Born in 1932 to parents Patrick and Sarah Dunne, she was 88 at the time of her death. Gloria was born and grew up in Somerville, graduating in 1950. She then went to work for New England Telephone Company before meeting her beloved husband, Jim, and moving to the South Shore.

This city girl was fortunate enough to spend summers in Fieldston throughout her younger years. After meeting Jim and bringing him to the ocean they fell in love with the beach and never looked back. They moved to Marshfield in 1963 where they raised their four children. She taught kindergarten at Mary Poppins School and later became the Daniel Webster School Librarian. Gloria was actively involved with Girl Scouts and the church as a CCD teacher.

"Glo" was happily married to her late husband, James Bossi, for more than 62 years. Together they attended countless games and performances for their children and grandchildren. They were homebodies who took pride in their yard and especially enjoyed family get-togethers around the pool. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid reader. It was not uncommon to find completed crossword puzzles scattered throughout the house or to take in the delicious aroma of Italian sauce simmering on the stove on any given Sunday.

Gloria is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughter Karen Siegel and her husband Peter of Pembroke, her three sons James Bossi and his wife Christine of Duxbury, Kevin Bossi and his wife Karen of Hanover, and Mark Bossi and his wife Doreen of Duxbury, along with her nine grandchildren, Matthew Siegel, Jack O'Toole, Kayla Doyle and her husband Brendan, Melinda deVeer and her husband Jay, Thomas, Heather, Connor, Brett and Craig Bossi, as well as her precious great granddaughters Adeline and Eliza Doyle. Gloria was the beloved Aunt of Christine MacLean of Ipswich. She was preceded in death by her husband James and her brother Thomas P. Dunne.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Thursday, June 3rd from 8:30 to 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield at 11:00 am.
