Chiccarelli, Gloria (Carpenter) of Marshfield, passed away on January 9 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Joseph Chiccarelli. Loving mother of Caroline Chiccarelli of Holden. Dear daughter of the late James and Caroline Carpenito. Gloria was born and brought up in Somerville; graduating from Lesley College in 1947. Prior to her marriage, she taught elementary school in Winthrop. In 1951, she went with her husband Joseph to Rome for his Fulbright Fellowship. Within those two years, her daughter, Caroline, was born. Following eight years in New York City as an elementary teacher, the family settled in Brockton where she continued to teach in various Catholic and public schools. She and her husband retired to Scituate and later Marshfield. She loved classical music and film, opera, theatre, and children's literature. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Thursday, January 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main St., Rte. 3A in Marshfield on Friday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
