Obituary

Grace Marie Campia of Hyde Park, MA passed away on April 19th, 2022. Beloved daughter of the late Theodore A Campia Sr. and Grace F. Campia. Sister of Theodore A Campia Jr. (Kim) of Dedham, the late Michael A Campia (Paula) of Hyde Park and Daniel A Campia (Susan) of Griswold, CT. She was the loving aunt to Jennifer Robitaille (Matthew) of Burlington, Michael A. Campia Jr. (Hillary) of Marshfield, Robert T. Campia of Hyde Park, Angelena M. Campia of Dedham, Ryan P. Campia (Ashley) of Wareham and Nicholas J. Campia (Emily) of Braintree. Grand aunt to Ava, Jake and Max Robitaille, Michael, Rhys, Clara and Hazel Campia, Isabella Moreta, Alice and Caroline Campia. Grace loved and cherished her time with her nieces, nephews and their children, they meant the world to her. She was like a mother and grandmother to them all and will be forever cherished by them for her loving kindness, guidance and generosity. She will be deeply missed and be held in our hearts forever.

Grace was born in Boston on July 14th, 1943. In 1961 she entered the Sisters of St Joseph. She served as a teacher in the Community for 10 years serving at St. Francis de Sales in Roxbury. After leaving the Community, Grace continued teaching in the Boston Public School Department, first at the Dearborn School and later at the Boston Latin Academy. She took time to study and develop an expertise in computer science. Grace had a special gift as a teacher and was loved by all her students. Grace cherished the lifelong friendships formed as a Sister of St. Joseph. Last September, Grace organized a weekend 50th reunion for her group. She delighted in the time she had with her dear friends at the reunion and in the weekly Zoom calls they shared thereafter.

On Saturday July 16th, 2022 there will be funeral mass at St. Susanna Church, 262 Needham Street in Dedham at 9:00 followed by a Celebration of Grace's life at the Chateau Restaurant, 404 Boston-Providence Turnpike in Norwood.

Grace's generosity to family, friends, students and all those she loved was immeasurable.
