Harry J. Bruno Jr., age 69, of Rockland, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Harry is the beloved husband of Nancy (Hutton) Bruno and dear father of Jeffrey Bruno of Rockland, Jonathan Bruno and his wife Shannon of Hanover, Julie Papa and her husband Peter of Plymouth, and Kristen Taber and her husband Luke of Danvers; devoted Grandfather of Kendall and Nicholas Bruno, Kayla Hart, Ashleigh and Dillon Taber, and Anna Morelli. Harry is predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann Bruno.

Harry was raised in Westerly, RI and graduated from Westerly High School, then later went on to obtain an Associate's degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.  Harry spent his entire adult life on the south shore of Boston, first in Quincy, then in Weymouth, Hanover, Duxbury, Rockland, Plymouth and finally back to Rockland.  Harry was very active in youth sports programs, serving as commissioner of the Hanover Youth Athletic Association for several years. He worked in the commercial door and hardware business for over 45 years. During that time he became one of the most respected men in the industry, established life-long friendships, and opened doors (no pun intended) for his two sons along the way.

Harry had a passion for fishing (and sometimes catching), riding his Harley all around the region, and watching all of the Boston area professional sports teams.  His biggest passion, however, was spending time with all of his grand-children, attending their sporting events and many other functions along the way.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield.
