McGahan, Helen S. of Duxbury, passed away on May 11, 2016 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late George McGahan and dear mother of Kathleen Shay and her husband Stephen of Duxbury and Michael McGahan and his wife Susan of New Jersey. Helen leaves six grandchildren Caela, Patrick, Brenna, Erin, Connor, and Annmarie. She is predeceased by a sister Irene and a brother Stanley.

Helen was born and raised in Valley Stream, NY. Helen and George raised their family in Mineola, NY where they lived for forty years. They then moved to Mashpee, MA and also spent winters in New Smyrna, FL.

Helen always had a smile on her face and enjoyed sharing a hearty laugh with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, singing, traveling, and playing bingo!

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield. Funeral procession at 9:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home on Monday, May 16, 2016 to the Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
