Irene Gallant, Age 96 of Marshfield, passed away December 29, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in 1925 to Cyrus and Catherine (O'Brian) Gallant in East Boston. Those left here to cherish her memory include her sister, Lorraine Pieper of Burlington; nieces Lillian Chishol and Doreen Flewelling; nephews Richard L. Pieper, Michael Pieper, and Stephen Pieper; great-nieces Krystal Jones, Heather Flewelling, and Grace Small; great-nephews Shane Flewelling, Adam Miller, and Keith Small; and Godchild, Jene Atkinson.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Henry Conner, as well as brother-in-law Richard R. Pieper, great-niece Jessica Krugler and great-nephew Keith Pieper.

Irene was always surrounded by friends and family and enjoyed living by the beach in Marshfield and spending most winters in Marco Island, Florida.

She loved to entertain family and friends by the ocean. Her favorite times were having family get-togethers at the beach for cookouts on the 4th of July. She enjoyed dancing and being with friends.

The family would like to thank Cranberry Hospice and her many friends and neighbors for taking special care of Irene. Also, nurse's Maureen and Peg who were most compassionate in her final hours, and a very special thanks to her good friend Karen Alvarez for always being there for Irene. We can't thank them enough.

Visiting hours will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in the Couch Cemetery in Marshfield.
