IRVINE A. NASH of Brant Rock (Marshfield) passed away on July 15, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Collinsville (Canton), Connecticut to Lucius and Jessie Nash. He lived most of his life in Brant Rock (Marshfield), Massachusetts.
Most often referred to as "Irv," he was also known as "Ichabod Crow" and the unofficial "Mayor of Brant Rock." Irv worked as a commercial fisherman out of Brant Rock for many years. After retiring from fishing, he sometimes restored small boats for resale.
An avid hunter, he occasionally misremembered the finer point of beginning and ending a hunting season. Irv was a strong supporter of Gun Owners' Action League in Massachusetts and the National Rifle Association.
Irv loved to visit his friends and local businesses during the day. He would stop by for a chat and a few doses of his "Oh Jesus!!!" followed by his unique and robust laugh. He was always trying to help his friends and wanted to put people in touch with each other when he thought they could help one another.
He follows his dear friends Winnifred Atwood and Constance Murphy, who predeceased him. He is survived by his many friends who helped him so much during his lifetime, to whom he always endeavored to repay with help of his own.
Ultimately, he is survived by all the residents of Marshfield and Brant Rock, of which he was such a unique fixture.
A graveside service will be held at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury, Massachusetts on July 27, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
