Obituary

James E. Connell (Jim) – February 23, 1932 – September 5, 2014. Loving husband to Noreen (Johnson) Connell of Winchester for more than 53 years, Jim is also survived by 4 children and their respective spouses, Eric and Noreen (Connell) Taranto of Mansfield, MA., William and Cara (Connell) Blumenschein of Pittsburgh, PA., Kenan and Shelby Connell of Marshfield, MA., and Steven and Julie (Connell) Rae of Walpole, MA.

James was a two year veteran of the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 and a proud graduate of Tufts University where he achieved a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Jim (Da) treasured his family and annually hosted the reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to his 9 grandchildren, Jarrett, Zack, Bryer, Clay, Devyn, Troy, Shealyn, Abigail, and McKenzie.

Jim and Noreen's magical and mystical story began in Winchester, MA., where Jim delivered oil for Fitzgerald Fuel and set news print for the Winchester Star. It was after the child bearing years that Jim sought employment further down the South Shore and closer to his own parents, James and Cecilia Connell of Hyannis, Cape Cod, to whom he was an only child. Realizing that this family could not be distanced by so many miles coupled with Jim's uncompromising desire to live at the beach, the family relocated to Marshfield where ultimately they settled. Jim took a rewarding job with the Plymouth Welfare Department and retired after 20 years. Jim passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his ever supportive family, after many years of coping with COPD and more recently a diagnosis of leukemia.

Our Family has selected a private remembrance.
