Meredith, James F., 87, longtime resident of Framingham passed away Thursday, October 30. Jim grew up in Athol, son of the late Thomas and Pearl Meredith. He was predeceased by his sister, Pearl, and his brothers Thomas and Louis. Jim married and raised his family in Framingham where he became involved in local politics. In addition to serving for a time as a Town Meeting member, Jim put in countless hours over the years as a volunteer for candidates for local office. Jim had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. He loved listening to Dixieland jazz and classical music and was a devoted Red Sox fan in good seasons and bad. He is survived by his 5 children: Nancy Meredith & her husband Hugh Munoz of Marshfield, James Meredith of Revere, Lauren Meredith of Boston, Thomas Meredith of Boston, Jack Meredith & his wife Terri of Sarasota, Fl, and their mother Judy Meredith and her husband Peter Rider of Boston. Jim also leaves behind 11 beautiful grandchildren: Abeje Abraham; Charli Klowden; David, Jimmy and Julia Meredith; Maya, Marlowe and Owen Meredith; Will, Alexander and Kate Munoz; all of whom are smarter than the average bear.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Saturday, November 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by a service at 4:00 p.m.
