Fitzgerald, James R. "Jim", of Marshfield, passed away on March 14, 2016 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Ruth (Hannigan) Fitzgerald. Loving father of Deborah Fitzgerald of Marshfield, Donna Miranda and her husband Wayne of Taunton, and Jayme (Fitzgerald) Moore and her husband Chuck of Marshfield. Dear grandfather of Jennifer, Brandon, Charlie, James, and great grandchildren Scarlett and Callan. Jim also leaves a sister and brother in-law, Nancy Arabian her husband Buddy of Taunton, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Jim was born in Boston to the late James R. and Jane B. (Morse) Fitzgerald. He attended Boston Latin School and was a graduate of Randolph High School, where he was voted "Most Athletic Member of the Class of 1958". Jim was a member of the football, baseball, basketball, and track teams, and was a recipient of the Joseph Cohen Most Valuable Player Award for football and was a Patriot Ledger All Scholastic. After high school, Jim spent six seasons with the Atlantic Coast Football Conference and three seasons with the Boston Park League Baseball program and played with the Brockton Pro's Football Team. He was inducted to the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. Jim was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and was President and Owner of Bankers Unlimited in Green Harbor for 40 years. He served as a member of the Board of Corporators at Coastal Heritage Bank, was a long time member of Marshfield Country Club.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery.
