Janet Morgan Hevey, a longtime Marshfield resident, passed away suddenly on August 11, 2020 at the age of 69. Jan was born July 14,1951 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Dr. Frank Morgan and Patricia Morgan. Jan was a 1969 graduate of Ottumwa High School and enjoyed keeping in touch with many classmates online. She later moved to Massachusetts where she met and married the love of her life, John Hevey. They had two sons together, Erin P. Hevey and Brett A. Hevey. Jan was a beloved elementary school teacher in the Marshfield school system for 38 years before retiring in 2013. Throughout her years as a teacher she made many lasting friendships that she treasured. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bruce, and her husband John.

Jan leaves behind many loved ones including her children, Erin and Brett Hevey of Marshfield. Kristen Abbott, Cheryl Stibel, Jeff Stibel, Christine LaPointe, Michelle Lapointe all of southern California and Rick Abbott of Avon. She adored her grandchildren and being a grandmother to Lincoln Stibel, Dennett Stibel, Delilah Abbott and Cecelia Abbott all of California.

The love and light in Jan's life were her family and friends. Jan was a passionate, caring, kindhearted teacher who touched the lives of many. Nature and animals always gave her happiness and she loved all her pets, especially Lacey. Days on the water, lobster fishing with John and spending time on Bassing beach with family gave her so much joy and happiness. Jan's spirit will live on through her loved ones. 1-4-3, Jan. You will be missed.

At this time services will be private with a memorial and burial to be announced at a later date.
