Jane was born in Dorchester. She was the second of 8 children. She graduated from St. Gregory's in Dorchester Lower Mills and eventually settled in Marshfield with her late first husband, Stephen Mirarchi and their children. One of her first jobs was at Filene's Basement where she became known for her exquisite gift wrapping during the holidays. Throughout her life she wore many hats, beyond being a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, and friend, at different times she was a waitress, bartender, bus driver, store clerk, receptionist, and administrative assistant at Blue Cross Blue Shield from where she retired. She worked at many restaurants in the Marshfield area including Lou's 139 where her regular customers knew her for her wonderful smile and great service. Through her strong work ethic and versatility, Jane ensured her children had everything they needed, sometimes working several jobs contemporaneously.
Jane was surrounded during her life by her loving family and large circle of friends. She kept busy with many talents and interests that included sewing, quilting, painting, ceramics, crocheting, cake decorating, and cooking. Her children will attest that her meals were legendary with such specialties as homemade raviolis and pizza, complemented with delicious Italian sauces, scrumptious baked goodies, and so many delicious Sunday dinners. She loved to travel and especially loved the beach. Jane enjoyed many summers on the beautiful beaches in Marshfield with her children and friends. In her later years she also enjoyed outings with the local Red Hat Society.
Jane loved her family, and her presence will be missed by those who loved her especially during the holidays which was one of her favorite times of the year.
