Jean Townley Crane 91, of Marshfield, MA, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2020 at Fairview Nursing Home, Hudson, NH. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Andy, who passed December 28, 2005, and son Jeff, who passed June 8, 1997. She is survived by her son Drew and daughter-in-law Lynelle, of Woodbridge, VA, Tom and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Hudson, NH, daughter-in-law Shari Crane and her husband Ray Johnson of Ashburn, VA. She is survived by siblings Lois T. Erickson and husband Karl of Eau Clare, WI, and sister-in-law Nancy Townley, widow of Alfred T. Townley III, of Berkley, MA, and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren throughout the country.

Jean was born September 28, 1928 in Fall River, MA, and after marrying Andy in 1952, lived in Massachusetts and Florida, before settling in Marshfield from 1968 to 2015, when she moved in with Tom & Elizabeth in Hudson, NH. She had worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone as a young woman, then at Seaside Answering Service in Brant Rock, MA, but will be most remembered as a steadfast & loyal wife, mother to three boys, and friend to many. Jean loved watching birds and growing flowers. She tolerated travels, flying on small planes and sailing with her husband Andy, but mostly enjoyed the First Congregational Church, Ladies Club and reading romance novels.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services this Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery, Union Street in Marshfield.
