Jean (Hoyt) Shevenell, a long time resident of Marshfield, passed away on May 1st. She was born in Saco, Maine and grew up in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She was married to her late husband Louis "Bernie" Shevenell, also from Maine, for 38 years.

Jean worked for many years as the Office Manager at Simms Yacht Yard in Scituate, which later became James Landing.

In her younger years, Jean was involved with the Marshfield Women's Club, shuttling her 3 sons to youth sports and swimming lessons, and teaching CCD for St. Christine's. She enjoyed socializing with friends and reading.

She is survived by her sons Stephen, Scott and Ronald; daughters-in-law Jennifer and Rosalyn; and grandchildren Brian and Christopher.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
