Gazin, Joan G. (Gleason). 81 Of Duxbury, June 23, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Paul K. Gazin. Loving mother of Amy Gazin-Schwartz and her husband Ave of So. Deerfield, MA., Paul Gazin and his partner Barbara Gloria of Johnston, RI., and Amanda Gazin of Somerville. Grandmother of Elizabeth Schwartz, Jessica Gazin and Nicole Gazin. Joan was born in So. Amboy, NJ. She attended Vassar College. Joan was a resident of Duxbury for 51 years and a Librarian for 31 years at the Duxbury Free Library, from which she retired in 2000. She was a teacher, a leader, a compassionate listener, and a stubborn advocate for her children, grandchildren, and friends. She loved books and children most of all, and hated injustice and war most of all. A Memorial Gathering will be held on August 10, 2014, 1-3 pm at her home in Duxbury.
