Joan Conley Sheehan, a loving wife, mother of five, grandmother of eight, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 68 surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late John F. and Joan F. (Sampson) Fitzgerald, Joan was the beloved wife of John Sheehan and the late Richard S. Conley; loving mother of Kerri Ann (Michael) Foley, Kristi (Denis) Kelleher, Colleen (Jeff) Cupples, Karen (Jason) Girouard, all of Marshfield, and Richard (Brittany) Conley of Newburyport; cherished grandmother of Brendan and Conor Foley, Maggie and Bridget Kelleher, Spencer and Reed Cupples, and Casey and Aisley Conley; dear sister of John (Patty) Fitzgerald of Marshfield, Jean (Bill) Griffin of Quincy, Judi Gaine (Mike Reidy) of Quincy, and Jane (Paul) Vecchione of Marshfield.
A longtime Marshfield resident, formerly of Hyde Park, Joan had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved. Her warmth and positivity brought joy to those she met, and her bright spirit will be missed by all who knew her. "Mam" was always happiest spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Joan lived a beautiful life raising her five children with her late husband, Richard. She had a successful 25-year career with Verizon as a telecommunications technician (IBEW 2222). A beach lover at heart, Joan enjoyed time with her Rexhame Beach family. She also loved traveling with her husband, John, to their favorite spot, Aruba. Those trips created many wonderful memories, especially her last visit this past July, when she led a group of 24 on an unforgettable week surrounded by her family. Above all, Joan's greatest joy came from her loved ones. She was the heart of her family, and some of her favorite moments were spent during Sunday dinners at "Two Tides," where everyone gathered together. She treated each day as a gift and her legacy of love, strength, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
