Joan Ellen (Curran) Sherman, 83, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on Easter morning, April 4, 2021.

Born April 12, 1937 in Brighton, MA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Curran and sister of Patricia Sudimack, Thomas Curran, and the late Kathleen Morse.

She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and never passed up an opportunity to brag about her children and grandchildren. She was the first to share how proud she was of all her family. Over the years she enjoyed countless motor home trips with her husband Paul, their dog Courtney and their friends. Joan had her pilot's license and was quick to tell everyone she scored higher than Paul on the test.

Joan loved to play golf and was a member of Marshfield Country Club, Eagle Creek Country Club and Blue Hill Country Club. She enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy, motor home trips, and spending time with friends and family. Joan and Paul were snowbirds, spending their winters in Naples, Florida. In the summer, they would head up north to Brooklin, Maine for several months to enjoy the Maine coast inviting family and friends to join them.

Joan shared 55 years of marriage to the late Paul Sherman. She is survived by Kathleen and Christopher Costello, Jonathan and Jennifer Sherman, the late Jeffrey Sherman, and his wife Debra, all of Pembroke, MA. Known as 'Grandmum', she is the grandmother of Justin, Jessica, Cara, Teddy, Kerrin, Kristin, Brendan, Amanda, Bodhi and Lilah. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be missed dearly by all.

The family extends a very special thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff at Newfield House, who provided invaluable care to Joan.

A private burial will be held at Mayflower Cemetery and additional services will be held at a later date. In lieu of Flowers please send a donation to a children's charity or for animal welfare as Joan often gave to those in need.
