Wolfgang, Joan (DeLory) of Duxbury, passed away on April 22, 2016 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Donald Wolfgang, Sr. Dear mother of Debra Neville (David) of Carver, Donald Wolfgang (Sandra), of Plymouth, and Thomas Wolfgang of Duxbury. Joan also leaves 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
For 19 years, Joan worked the deli in the A&P in Duxbury, MA. She nonchalantly filled orders for famous local rock stars and friends alike with a smile and "Dorchester" stoop friendliness. She learned to drive late in life to transport her disabled husband, once needing to be reminded that 80 was the route number, not the speed limit. During the holidays, she always added a new piece to her countertop Christmas village.
She loved birds singing, country music, her "stories," and camping. She loved BB, "Joe's" dog. Over the years, she accumulated a large clown collection (forget the obvious reference there to sons, grandsons, and great grandsons, which she had a few of too).
She was fearless in a game of Yahtzee or Rummikub. God help anyone who broke a rule, which we swear she made up as she went along.
Joan was an avid Boston sports team critic, adding her own personal color analysis never heard on TV. She will be sorely missed next year when we hold a moment of silence, just before the Patriots kick butt in Super Bowl LI.
She hoped we wouldn't forget her, God knows we never could.
Rest in peace, Ma. It's been quite a ride.
Love yah,
All of us
