Obituary

JoAnn D. (Trenholm) Chiavaroli, 89, died peacefully on April 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a fighter and held on to life.

JoAnn was born on August 22, 1932 in Boston to the late Herbert and Irene Trenholm. Having spent most of her life in Quincy, she was a Quincy High School graduate of the class of 1950.

JoAnn was sister of the late Shirley Franzen and her husband Richard of Scituate, and sister of the late William Trenholm and his wife Priscilla.

JoAnn was the devoted wife of Paul R. Chiavaroli (Hodie), her high school sweetheart with whom she shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. JoAnn also leaves behind her daughter Kim Reid of Marshfield, son Dana Chiavaroli and his wife Karyn of Boca Raton, FL, daughter Jill Sorrentino and her husband Jim of Scituate, and her daughter in-law Charise Cassetta of Charleston, SC. She was the loving Gramma to her granddaughters Taylor Reid of Marshfield, Hayley Reid of Reno, NV, Alecia Sorrentino of Payson, UT, Aja Jacobson and her husband Jordan of Dorchester, and her grandson James Sorrentino of Pittsfield. She was looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild this summer. Family meant the world to JoAnn and she cherished every moment that she spent with them.

In JoAnn's younger years, she worked as a model for Hart Modeling Agency. Later, she went to work in Women's Fashion at Remicks Department Store in Quincy, until moving to Marshfield where she retired as Office Manager for Caldor. In retirement, JoAnn loved spending warm days on the beach at her vacation home in Falmouth or by her pool. Her hobbies included sewing, shopping, taking frequent trips to the casino, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Over the years, JoAnn and Paul made many wonderful friends, and her family is grateful and appreciative for those friends today for the love and support given to her during her final days.

Funeral services will be private for immediate family, followed by a Celebration of Life service later this summer.
To our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Wife: You will be deeply missed but your memory will always be in our hearts.
