John Ronald Coombs, Jr. of Scituate passed away on April 29, 2025 at the age of 62. Raised in Marshfield by John R. and Patricia (Johnson) Coombs, he had an inquisitive mind and many interests, including astronomy, "Star Trek," amateur (ham) radio, cartooning, politics, religion, and music. He completed his BA in History at Bridgewater State University where he was a DJ for the school's radio station. John had a comprehensive knowledge of and love for popular music, especially that of the '70's and '80's. He also enjoyed singing (he had a fine baritone voice) and playing guitar. One of his favorite jobs was working at Radio Shack where he was able to utilize his familiarity with stereo equipment and electronic gadgets to help customers.

He leaves his brother, Chris; his sisters, Ann-Marie Messbauer and Jennifer Fransen, and their families; as well as his son and daughter-in- law, Shane and Natalie Coombs, and seven grandchildren. Special thanks to the caring staff at Life Care Center of the South Shore.

John will be laid to rest in the Couch Cemetery with a Graveside Service on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:15 a.m.
