John J. Daneu, Jr., of Marshfield, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 15, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Howard) Daneu, loving father of Margaret Baraniecki, Carolyn Holmes, Christine Kane-Stone and her long-time companion Joe Zablocki, Suzanne Daneu and her fiance George Robinson, John Daneu and his wife Jane, Michael Daneu and his wife Jean, and the late Patricia Jean and Mary Ellen; John also leaves 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A decorated Navy Veteran of World War II, John was a very strong man with such a kind heart.  His sharp wit and old-fashioned morals and values will live on.  Family always came first.  He enjoyed sitting at the seawall feeding the gulls and looking at the ocean. He would often be found admiring the birds in his yard.  His beloved cat Mitzy rarely left his side.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
